About

About Jane Tattersfield creator of Tattersfield Designs

I grew up in London & studied illustration at Kingston. In my 3rd year of Art School I was lucky enough to be commissioned by Collins Publishers to illustrate the covers for all of Shakespeare's plays in a series aimed at the teenage market. This was a great start to my career and led to commissions from other publishers, magazines, graphic design & greeting card companies. I went on to specialise in childrens' books & television work, in particular with Channel 4.

Colour & pattern has always been the most exciting aspect of my work to me, & using inks and gouache I created a vibrant & intricately decorative style, with influences from India, South America, textile, folk & ancient art.

I then worked in oils producing paintings inspired by ancient myths & the cycle of nature. After several exhibitions I decided to bring out a range of products which included cards, prints, tea towels & cushions under the name TATTERSFIELD DESIGNS & these are now selling in shops in the UK & abroad.

I have worked on many private commissions & also license my images for a variety of products worldwide.
